O

[O]

O the great O that today is unlettered cloud

emerging and merging from horizon irrepressibly

familiar hue rhyming with true inexpressibly

expressing the oceans, continual and prowed

that yesterday was something hour upon hour

words could not describe or art redesign

and tomorrow apparently might be just fine

though later in the day 95% showers

meets the O of the eye immense in its place

sensation surround secure from the ground

teaming spectrum multiplying forms

blinking away specks bright light darkest space

searching out abound discerning astound

picking up letters words before the storms

O

[O] of October. October of oranges. Oranges of off-season, organised, offered, opened. Otherwise occurring overall. Ontology of organisms. Orgasms of origin. Overtures of omnipotence. Overabundance of occasion, orientation, obstinacy, overdrive. Oodles of outcomes. Overlap of ornithology. Ornamentation of octosyllables. Orchestra of onomatopoeia. Odes of oxygen. Oceans of ozone, overwhelm, Odyssean. Obsidian overnight occlusions. Oscillations of octopus. Orbits of optics, ochre, opal. O’clocks of ordinary, obvious, oddity, opposite. Orders of otherwise, ostensible, outlawed, otiose. Objective opera omnia. Om often okay. Otherness of orb. Orb of October. October of ours. Orb of offertory. Obelisks of occupancy. Obituaries of oblivion. Oblique Orion overhead.

O (May)

O was an island amid islands the bright band of equator blessed. Islanders watch the wash wash over from an island that is. O gapes fire on rim and remote range, the underground ovens answering unfazed sun’s force. O shrinks where ice shelfs drop, flowing back into shape-shifting salt sea. Glacial pace is a black joke as ancient valleys emerge fast and creek, after eons of rock scrape. O this great planet we may only perceive from a geometric point, our flat picture defining our O down to blue atoms in the sub-structure of galaxies. We call it ours, anyway.

O (February)

O is for O’Clock, after thoughtless night, six impossible things before breakfast. Round face for square whole remains expressionless. We know the deal in our heads. Omnivorous, ominous, overbearing, ordinary, okay the hours arrive, at a station as it were, and again depart. Shops are not fussed, meetings go ahead as planned, commuters resolved their attitudes long ago. Argument may flare over anything O goodness groceries anything at all! February again, 29 or 28 it makes no difference. P is for pause, it’s there in the dictionary, like prayer. Arguments are put out there, thought presenting past, opening a future.

O (September)

Out of the O of the human crown crowd our infinite, infantile alphabets. They are crystal wand and blunt instrument. Out of the O of ink bowl, says a second myth, our alphabets walk and somersault over drying mud and mattressed reeds. They clarify and confuse. Moon, in reassuring Orbit, changes abstractly through September. Earth, our only O, bigger than all of us, is yet a blue dot in our grey brains. One myth says the last syllable of recorded time will be a whimpered O. Another says that every letter ever offered will return into the hole of O.

O (October)

O mouth sound mouth shape from throat song into round world again! O hymnwriters’ word favourite that after all is all about first time again exclamation mark wonder wonder declared! O dayspring from on high or more like sometimes vocal noise when no other comes a gasp breath shriek joy puzzlement despair! O that this could not be and is or simply surprise at the sight! O look an orangutan for example or guesswork exact answer! O October as if addressing solid time with a clavicle blurt! O could be agony ecstasy pain pleasure! O is rounded with a sleep!
