Ghazal (November)
I, thoroughly convinced the world was
mine,
Spent youth, prior to learning from squiffy
wine,
In the school of soft knocks the complex
moment;
Knew love and was known in love, like the
wine
That calms, enlivens, inspires and
shares.
To enhance memories, or forget, this local
wine
Teaches that the great I am that I was is
done;
That life is full where all glasses of
wine
Fill with familiar colour for friends and
lovers
This November, this time around, this
wine;
That you too, finding yourself filled up
halfway
Sign these words with your name, not Philip
Harvey.
