[Sonata] The heaviness of February makes way for the
heaviness of March. As in deep sleep, where we carry the burden of day, this
music repeats how the world will not change to suit our desires. Our desires
will bear us unfulfilled into heaviness of delusion and disillusion.
Disillusion is the ‘haunting refrain’ saying we must live with heaviness. In
the second half of this sonata heaviness drops still further, indulgence near
despair that rather enjoys heaviness, knowing now nothing more. Yet against
this drop signals of change occur. Despite dreaming pleasurable heaviness,
touches of lightness awaken inside, asked for.
