The birds
this August morning emit silvery sounds. Only someone with serious listening
difficulties would not detect the silvery music. John Lennon instructed George
Martin he wanted the next song covered in a green sound. Curiously, Martin seemed
to know what he meant. Alexander Scriabin invented a colour instrument to
perform original compositions. Is synaesthesia fad or creative key? Opinion is
divided over the sounds of some colours, prominently beige. Is beige the
necessary backdrop for much crescendo, filler between outbursts of symphonic
extreme? Or is it elevator music, the sound of no hand clapping? Or is beige
breathtaking understatement?
