Open (October)

October opens its eyes on gleaming morning. Sounds between alarm clock and lorikeet open the mind. Tablets white and tangerine manage bad cholesterol. Nostrils open to coffee cloud and toast singe. Honestly, the news on the screen is just what you’d expect. Showerhead makes the skin reflect. Mouth opens, rendering a Manchester song. Muscles move where shirt arms open. Twinkle toes vanish again inside their shoes. Heart opens and closes and the beat goes on. Out in the open it’s really October. Neatly clad bodies follow each other, whither they will. Upgraded platforms in bright light assemble the alarm clocked.
