paint container with handle, found on the nature strip two summers ago when the
neighbouring Indian family decided to redesign their kitchen. Water shimmer
splashes at the brim, runs over into a square standing garden tray of green
ceramic. Floods on a small scale by gravity move down the concrete path into
sodden earth. The water there settles, turning dark green and abundant: small
purple pennants, close-up cinquefoil, flag their progress along the borders.
