I
like facts, though facts aren't everything. Even when we have the facts, are
they any help? What about facts that contradict earlier facts? Or refute them?
There are facts in step with the march of time, facts that come back into
vogue. It's hard to keep up. Facts that tell us something, but not enough.
Facts that are unpleasant, that we would prefer were not facts, so then they’re
not. Iconic facts. Today there’s a vogue for fake facts. Are they facts until
we find they’re not facts? Or are we meant to like them if they are fake?
