Container (May)

Left about in shipyards, behind warehouses, like parcels after Christmas Day unwrapping: industrial-scale leftovers. All that’s ever on blue horizons now: container vessels. Are the heavy rectangles in May weedfields abandoned? Or will they go back to the names they own to: Hamburg, Shanghai …  Boys are busting to cut security wire and go explore, get lost in those rows of rooms. Drop down inside one and do, what? Make music, play chess, text friends, invent sports, enjoy silence. No one knows you’re there, too busy in suburban boxes elsewhere, playing with new toys shipped direct from Hamburg, Shanghai …
