After
the fires of summer
I
look forward to the rest of autumn.
The
rest of autumn could be leaves of cloud,
Leaves
of smoke that took my breath away;
Breath
that leaves me breathing for more
The
rest of autumn restoring my breath -
An
important cloud, an important life.
Clouds
of leaves were flaming ashen ember
To
remember through the rest of autumn.
What
can I say who lived on air
Through
a summer like no other
My
breath important in the scheme of life,
Speaking
the main words, feeding my warm blood;
The
rest of the leaves gone over the ocean.
